The founder of Partner in Education, Dr. Conrad-Curry has worked in education for more than twenty-five years. Her expertise in literacy and differentiated instruction has made her a sought after consultant, presenter, and keynote speaker. Dr. Conrad-Curry’s innovative approaches to curriculum and instruction step beyond academic convention to create robust teaching environments. Enthusiastic yet focused, her approaches are based in educational research balanced by school and district needs.
Through hard work and a little luck, Dr. Conrad-Curry has had the opportunity to meet and work with some of the most eminent names in education and educational reform: Willard Daggett, Roger Taylor, and David Coleman among them. Her work in cross disciplinary curricula centered in rigor, relevance, and differentiation long before such terms became commonplace in educational lexicon has uniquely prepared Dr. Conrad-Curry to help teachers and schools meet the challenge of Common Core implementation. Not only does Dr. Conrad-Curry work with schools and districts, she has also worked with the California BOE as a content expert reviewing the alignment of supplemental instructional materials to the Common Core.
A life-long learner, Dea earned her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction and two Master’s Degrees: the first in Linguistics and Language and the second in Educational Administration. She has been recognized with numerous educational and teaching awards, including four listings in Who’s Who in America’s Teachers and several Midwestern college awards naming her “Most Outstanding Teacher.” In December 2012, Dea was honored by a research award for her paper, “Reading Achievement, NCLB Compliance, and Sex” by the 2012 Literacy Research Association Annual Conference in San Diego.
